I decided to start the year off with some Yung Lean. If you don't know who Yung Lean is, don't feel bad. This 17 year old Swedish rapper has created quite a name of himself online. His SadBoys crew, comprised of Yung Lean, Yung Sherman and Yung Gud are creating an entirely new style of hip hop. I can't help but thinking that Yung Lean wouldn't be as prominent as he is if it weren't for Lil B, paving the way with his style and approach to internet presence. Lean's lyricism is much like Lil B's, in it's cloud rap nature.
When I first put on Unknown Death 2002, I wasn't really sure what to expect. I have to admit, I didn't think I would get him. Quite the contrary. Yung Lean's Unknown Death 2002 is a stellar freshman effort. His presence has touched numerous SadBoys throughout the world. He has to wait until he's 18 until he can come to the United States to tour. Until then, you'll just have to keep sipping your Arizona and bumping Unknown Death 2002.
